After another season of growth and productivity at the Westport Town Farm, The Trustees of Reservations will host it third annual Harvest Festival. Join in the celebration, with local food, music, family activities and a one-day farmers market featuring Westport area farmers. Youngsters will have the opportunity to paint pumpkins, join a scavenger hunt, and interact with goats, cows and alpacas from nearby farms. Guests will be encouraged to tour the historic buildings, stroll the scenic grounds and enjoy the ambiance of one of Westport’s most beautiful places. State Representatives Christopher M. Markey (D-Dartmouth) and Paul A. Schmid (D-Westport) joined their colleagues in the Massachusetts House of Representatives in unanimously passing legislation to reform guidelines for determining the form, amount and duration of alimony payments. See press release. July 12: Over $1 Million in Principal Forgiveness for Drinking-Water Project to Fall River. Paul joins David Sullivan in welcoming the funds. "The City of Fall River's water infrastructure is under much needed repair and improvement. Any help with the financing is greatly appreciated." * * * July 11: The state's Economic Assistance Coordinating Council approved Westport's first Economic Opportunity Area between Sanford Road and Route 88. Paul testified in favor of the application. |
